Doing Me
Are you currently in a season where you are feeling drained, overwhelmed, overpowered, overworked and just………… OVER IT?! I want to let you know that you are not alone. So many people are struggling to stay grounded, because the responsibilities of life, are pulling them in every direction, but the right direction. Can you relate? Your family needs you. Your employer needs you. Your church needs you. Your community needs you. Your past struggles and traumas need you. With all that is expected of you, you may have given up on the one person that needs you the most………… YOU. There is 24 hours in a day, however, your responsibilities seems to requires for you to give 48 hours in a day. IMPOSSIBLE. The time that you have given to SELF, is at a solid zero.
If you wear yourself out, in time, you will discover that your need to operate from a place of perfection, will also wear out those that are around you. You just can’t be everything, for everybody, just as everybody cant be everything for you. This is where SELF-CARE comes in for the rescue! I want to encourage you to set aside time just for YOURSELF. Invest in YOU, just as you invest in everyone else. I also want to encourage you to be UNAPOLOGETIC! Nope, you don’t owe anyone a speech, a heads up, nor a explanation. DO YOU. Also, invite God into your day. Allow for the Holy Spirit to guide you in balancing those daily responsibilities, as well as time dedicated to the most important person, which is YOU!
