Free Your Mind

Updated: May 17, 2023

I’m going to keep this week's blog short and simple. HEAL. Yes, YOU………. HEAL. Anxiety is stealing your thoughts and depression is distorting your reality. The hurt and pain over the years, has impolitely, took charge over your life. It may seem that you are floating in the ocean, trying your hardest to keep your head above water, but it feels like your fate is bringing you right into the path of a strong tide, attempting to pull you under. There are days when you can’t separate truth from fiction, because your mind is in a constant state of playing tricks with you. You may wonder if you will EVER come out of the mental stronghold that has come only to steal, kill and to destroy you.

I’m here to tell you that, YOUR LIFE MATTERS. However, your life must matter to yourself! I want to encourage you on today, to take back what the devil is attempting to steal YOUR PEACE and YOUR FAITH. God loves YOU and He will NEVER leave you, nor forsake you. You may have experienced trauma after trauma, hurt after hurt………… BUT GOD! Don’t give the devil what he wants, which is your mind, because as a man thinketh, so is he. YOU are a child of God’s and you were magnificently created in His image. Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc., has to flee! YOU WERE CREATED FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.

Below are 10 steps that you can consider implementing into your day, to help manage stress and a positive mental health lifestyle:

1.     Read the Bible, utilizing the best translation for you/meditate on God’s Word.

2.     Pray without ceasing.

3.     Be accountable to what you are feeling.

4.     Set boundaries for yourself and for others.

5.     Add and delete where necessary. Let go of what no longer serves you (internally/externally).

6.     Take deep breathes when felling overwhelmed.

7.     Schedule time for self-care.

8.     Implement healthy eating/exercise habits.

9.     Speak words of affirmation over yourself.

10.  Remember that you are not perfect and give yourself grace.

“I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.” Psalms 40: 1-3
