God, Where Are You?
I most definitely, have had many challenging seasons in my lifetime, however, 2018 stretched me, pushed me, gutted me, and sliced me, in ways that I didn’t even think was possible. It is surely, not by my own might, that I am still here today, but there were many times that I felt as if God’s face had turned away from me, leaving me to fight in the battle all alone. I wanted to give up. I wanted to give in. I didn’t feel qualified. I didn’t feel equipped. I DIDN’T FEEL LIKE I WAS CREATED FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS! God appeared to be SILENT. I could not hear Him. I found myself asking so many times, GOD, WHERE ARE YOU? My enemies where appearing to get away with their evil attempts to kill, steal and to destroy, and GOD WAS ALLOWING IT. I felt as if I was living in a modern day replay of Jobs life.
Have you ever found yourself feeling as if you were alone, wondering around in the wilderness, and God was nowhere in sight? The lies. The rumors. The attacks. These things were all too much for you to bear, but God did not come in for the rescue, rather, He remained SILENT, as if He was oblivious to what you were experiencing. Maybe, you found yourself struggling to pay your bills, or, sick with no diagnoses in sight, or maybe, your marriage was falling apart, your kids were straying from their faith, or you found yourself deep in an addiction. NOTHING. SILENCE. You may have found yourself wondering if God even cares. Better yet, you may have come to the conclusion, that something that you have done in your past, is now catching up with you, and you deserve what you were going through.
LISTEN CLOSELY. God loves YOU. Just as God had to turn His face from Jesus, while He was being murdered on His cross, God has to sometimes, turn His face from you. WHY? Because God knows that your suffering……………. my suffering, is for a bigger cause. If you are a parent, then you are aware that, know matter how much you desire to shield your children from hurt, harm and danger, there’s just going to be times that you have to allow for them to bump their head. Your intentions are not to be mean and vicious; you are only operating as a loving parent, that knows that your children have to learn some things for themselves……….. it creates maturity, and molds their character. God didn’t allow for Jesus to experience ALL that He experienced, because He didn’t love Him, it was because HE LOVES YOU! So, even when it appears that God is know where to be found, and His voice is on mute, in reality, He is working all things out for your good! He will never leave you, nor forsake you. He is everywhere, at all times. HE IS WITH YOU!
