Man in the Mirror

 I'm just going to get straight to the point, sis……………. LOVE ON YOURSELF and STOP COMPROMISING THE PERSON THAT GOD CREATED YOU TO BE. Too many times we place all of our efforts into others, while neglecting ourselves. We can get lost in pleasing others, never finding our way back to ourselves! We can not pour from an empty cup and expect to be replenished, we only become more and more dehydrated from life. It may seem silly, but we can actually begin to resent our own selves, because there’s a part of us that knows that we have been neglectful and hurtful, to the person looking back at us from the mirror.

One of my FAVORITE songs of all time, is Michael Jackson’s, Man in the Mirror song. Everything about this song enlightens me. The beat. The choir in the background. The lyrics. THE MESSAGE. In my opinion, there’s no song to date, that can touch Man In The Mirror. What are you telling the man/woman in the mirror? Are you telling her to CHANGE her ways? Have you become too comfortable with living in your box of comfort, ignoring the fact that the box is restricting your growth and becoming more and more uncomfortable? Sis, the person in the mirror is NOT your enemy, so stop treating her as if she is. Start pouring into her. Start inspiring her. Start correcting her. Pray over her. Embrace her. Love on her.

“For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” Ephesians 2:10 AMP

Our healing is our responsibility. PERIOD. I get it……… they hurt you. They tore your heart to tiny pieces and did it without a care or concern. They stole your trust. They violated you. They lied to you/on you. I GET IT! However, let me remind you of something…………… IF GOD BE FOR YOU, WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU?! God NEVER promised that the weapons would not form, He promised that they would not prosper. Unfortunately, instead of walking in His promises, we can begin to start throwing weapons against our own selves, and those weapons……………..Chile…………. those are weapons of mass destruction! Not only will weapons against ourselves prosper, but they will destroy us and ALL that God has for us.

“No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17 AMP

I want to encourage you to start taking time for yourself. Be willing to do whatever it takes to heal in a HEALTHY way. Invest not only in your mind and body, but invest in you soul and spirit. Allow God in. God is a loving God, that loves you more than any man, drug, liquor brand, food, or material possession could ever love you. You are His masterpiece. Embrace the person that is looking back at you from the mirror. Ask her to change her ways. Get to know her. YOU WERE CREATED FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.
