My Father’s Will
In a world filled with distractions and competing priorities, it can be challenging to stay obedient to God's will. However, as a follower of God, obedience is not just a choice but a calling, a commitment and a command. Obedience to God is more than simply following a set of rules; it is a response to His love and grace. It is a surrender of our will to His, acknowledging His wisdom and authority in our lives. Obedience is an act of trust, knowing that God's plans are greater than our own. Jesus Christ, is the ultimate example of what obedience looks like. He lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father, even unto death on the cross. Jesus displayed His love for us and paved the way for our salvation. As followers of Christ, we are called to imitate His obedience and strive to align our lives with His teachings.
God's Word is our guidebook for a life of obedience. It provides us with wisdom, instruction, and principles to follow. Though we live lives full of schedules and obligations, studying and meditating on scripture, allows us to understand God's will and align our actions to His actions. As Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Obedience often requires us to step out of our comfort zones and trust in God's plan, even when it doesn't make sense to us. It requires faith to believe that God's ways are higher than ours and that He works all things together for our good.
As we cultivate a habit of obedience, we learn to rely on His guidance and surrender our own desires. Obedience brings forth blessings and spiritual growth in our lives. When we walk in obedience, we experience the peace and joy that comes from being in harmony with God's will. Our obedience also serves as a testimony to others, reflecting God's goodness and faithfulness.
Daughter of God, obedience to God is a lifelong journey that requires intentionality, faith, and trust. It is not always easy, but it is always worth it. As we strive to obey God in every area of our lives, we draw closer to Him and experience the abundant life He has promised. Let us embrace the call to obedience and allow God to shape us into the image of Him, not who the world is attempting to create us to be.
