Relationship Under Attack

Relationships are the foundation of our identity. Even before we were created in our mother’s womb, we were a reflection of God’s image, as He prepared to strategically, specifically, and miraculously, knit together bone, soul and flesh. As He knit us together, our relationship with Him came to life. A beautiful relationship of a child and their loving, sovereign Father. It was in the womb, that we learned all about  love. It was in the womb, were we learned what a healthy, God ordained union, was to be. God is dependable, present, honest, caring, kind, protective………… and EVERYTHING ELSE GOOD. He is the example of what we should offer, in our relationship with self, as well as, in our relationships with others. Relationships were established in God’s Kingdom, before creation of our earth. Some of those relationships were happy and flourishing, then, well…….. there’s that relationship were NARCISSISTIC ABUSE was born, forever separating good from evil.

““Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”” Jeremiah 1:5 NIV

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalms139:14 NIV

As we bring  awareness to domestic violence in the month of October, I want to encourage you to reflect on what a healthy relationship looks like to you. What is your personal mission statement, as you allow others in your personal space? Domestic violence is an epidemic that goes untreated. Though domestic violence does not discriminate on gender, statistics reveal that women are the most targeted population. Domestic violence can be witnessed in our schools, churches, places of employment, homes, and in our communities as a whole. Though we tend to gravitate to the physical wounds, domestic violence leaves its mark on our mental, spiritual, emotional, financial and sexual health. Domestic violence is the devils way of tearing down the family unit, tarnishing our identity, and alignment with Christ. Because the devil’s relationship with God, is FOREVER severed, he does everything in his power to sever our relationship with Christ as well. Man against woman; woman against man. He is also, strategic and specific in the toxic dysfunction that he creates.

“Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.” 1Peter 3:7 NIV

I want to tell YOU on today, your IDENTITY is in Christ, and Christ alone. Your Father has loved and cherished you, since, BEFORE He began to knit you together in your mother’s womb. Allow for GOD’S LOVE, and the relationship between you and Him, to be the foundation that EVERY relationship that you have, is built upon. I know too well what it feels like, to be bullied and ridiculed, by narcissistic abuse, so, I STAND WITH YOU. Whether you are male, or female, you deserve NOTHING LESS, than for any person to love you , as God loves you. The devil has NO amount of power that can stand up against the power of GOD’S LOVE FOR YOU. Create your mission and purpose statement, then, add and delete where necessary. If you found that you have treated others less than their worth, GOD’S LOVE CAN REDEEM YOU.

“Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.” Ephesians 5:22-24 NIV
